Marion County GOP Text Messaging Program – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 7, 2026
1. Program description. The Marion County Republican Party ("Marion County GOP," "we," "us") operates a text messaging program (the "Program") to share party news, meeting and event notices, volunteer opportunities, election and voting reminders, calls to action, and requests for political contributions. Messages are sent from 430-264-4480.
2. Consent. By opting in through our website, a sign-up form, or by texting a keyword to [short code/number], you give your express written consent to receive recurring text messages, including messages sent using automated technology, from the Marion County GOP at the mobile number you provided. You agree that your electronic opt-in is a valid signature under the federal E-SIGN Act and applicable state law. Your consent is not a condition of membership, attending any event, making a contribution, or any purchase. Your consent applies only to the Marion County GOP and is not consent to receive messages from any other party, candidate, or organization.
3. Eligibility and your number. You confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that you are the account holder for, or are authorized to use, the mobile number you provide. If you change or give up your mobile number, you agree to text STOP from that number or notify us at marioncotxgop@gmail.com before doing so, so that messages are not sent to the number's new owner.
4. Message frequency. Message frequency varies and may increase around elections, events, and fundraising deadlines. We send messages only between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. in the recipient's local time zone.
5. Costs. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan. The Marion County GOP does not charge for the Program.
6. How to opt out. You may cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message. We also honor STOP, STOPALL, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, REVOKE, OPT OUT, and any other reasonable request to stop, including a reply in your own words (e.g., "please don't text me"), an email to marioncotxgop@gmail.com. After you opt out, you may receive one final message confirming your request, and you will receive no further messages from the Program unless you opt in again. We will process opt-out requests promptly and no later than ten (10) business days after receipt; texted STOP requests are generally processed immediately.
7. Help. Reply HELP to any message or contact us at marioncotxgop@gmail.com for assistance.
8. Carriers. Supported carriers include major U.S. carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is subject to effective transmission by your carrier and is not guaranteed.
9. Privacy. We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your text-messaging opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or messaging purposes. We may share this information only with service providers that help us operate the Program (such as our texting platform), who are bound to use it solely for that purpose, or when required by law. See our [Privacy Policy] for more information.
10. Political content and contributions. Messages are paid for by the [Marion County Republican Party] and are not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee unless stated otherwise. Contributions to the Marion County GOP are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
11. Changes to these terms. We may update these terms at any time. The current version will always be posted at https://marioncountygop.com/terms. Continued participation after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated by text.
12. Disclaimer. The Program is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Marion County GOP is not liable for delays, failures in delivery, or any errors in message content.
